Why Choose the ABB F202 A-100/0.03 AP-R Residual Current Circuit Breaker?
The ABB F202 A-100/0.03 AP-R is a high-performance 2-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) designed to protect people and electrical installations against earth leakage faults. Part of the proven ABB System pro M compact® F200 series, it provides sensitive residual current protection for high-current single-phase circuits in commercial, industrial and building-services applications.
Featuring Type A residual current detection, the F202 A-100/0.03 AP-R responds to both sinusoidal AC and pulsating DC residual currents. This makes it suitable for modern installations containing electronic equipment, switched-mode power supplies, appliance controls and other loads capable of producing pulsating DC earth leakage.
ABB's AP-R short-time delayed technology improves resistance to unwanted tripping caused by transient leakage currents, switching events and electrical disturbances. With a 100 A rated current and 30 mA residual current sensitivity, this RCCB offers an effective balance between personal protection and continuity of service.
Key Advantages
100 A rated current for high-capacity single-phase circuits.
30 mA sensitivity provides additional protection against electric shock.
Type A detection responds to AC and pulsating DC residual currents.
AP-R short-time delay improves immunity to unwanted tripping.
2-pole switching disconnects both line and neutral conductors.
Compact two-module design for standard DIN rail distribution boards.
Key Features
ABB System pro M compact® F200 series.
100 A rated current.
30 mA rated residual operating current.
Type A residual current characteristic.
AP-R short-time delayed operation.
2-pole configuration.
Supply connection possible from the top or bottom.
DIN rail mounting with fast clip installation.
Reliable AP-R Earth Leakage Protection
The ABB F202 A-100/0.03 AP-R monitors the current flowing through the line and neutral conductors. When it detects an imbalance caused by current leaking to earth, it rapidly disconnects the circuit to reduce the risk of electric shock, fire and damage to electrical equipment.
Its AP-R operating characteristic introduces a short intentional delay and enhanced resistance to impulse currents. This helps prevent unnecessary disconnection during transient events while retaining sensitive 30 mA protection. The device must be used alongside appropriate overload and short-circuit protection because an RCCB does not provide overcurrent protection by itself.
Typical Applications
Commercial distribution boards.
High-current single-phase incoming supplies.
Residential and mixed-use developments.
Retail, office and hospitality installations.
Building-services electrical systems.
Circuits containing electronic equipment and appliances.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the ABB F202 A-100/0.03 AP-R used for?
The F202 A-100/0.03 AP-R detects earth leakage currents and disconnects the supply to help protect people and electrical installations against electric shock and earth-fault hazards.
Does this RCCB provide overload or short-circuit protection?
No. The F202 A-100/0.03 AP-R provides residual current protection only and must be installed with a suitably rated fuse or circuit breaker for overload and short-circuit protection.
What does AP-R mean?
AP-R identifies ABB's short-time delayed RCCB technology, which provides enhanced resistance to transient leakage currents and helps reduce unwanted tripping while maintaining residual current protection.
What residual currents can a Type A RCCB detect?
A Type A RCCB detects sinusoidal alternating residual currents and pulsating DC residual currents generated by many modern electronic devices.
What is the residual current sensitivity of this device?
The ABB F202 A-100/0.03 AP-R has a rated residual operating current of 30 mA, making it suitable for additional personal protection applications.
Can the supply be connected from the top or bottom?
Yes. The F202 A-100/0.03 AP-R supports supply connection from either the top or the bottom, providing greater installation flexibility.
