The Mersen 44020000, also known as the K2-N, is a pluggable neutral surge protection cartridge for compatible devices within the Mersen Surge-Trap® K2 Series. Designed for neutral-to-earth protection, it provides a practical replacement for a worn or end-of-life neutral module without requiring the complete surge protection assembly to be replaced.
This single-pole Type 2 cartridge is intended for the neutral protection position in compatible K2 devices using a 3+1 or 1+1 configuration. It is commonly paired with Mersen K2 line cartridges in surge protection assemblies for TT and suitable TN electrical installations.
With a maximum discharge current of 50 kA, the K2-N helps divert damaging transient surge energy from neutral to protective earth. Its pluggable construction supports quick maintenance, while the visual condition indicator allows engineers to identify when replacement is required.
Surge protection cartridges gradually absorb energy from transient overvoltages and may eventually reach the end of their service life. The Mersen K2-N cartridge allows the neutral protection module to be replaced independently while retaining the compatible DIN rail base and remaining cartridges.
