Why Choose the Mersen NH4AM50V1000-8 NH Fuse Link?

The Mersen NH4AM50V1000-8 is a heavy-duty NH aM low voltage fuse link engineered to provide effective short-circuit protection for large industrial motors and high-current motor control circuits. As part of the established Mersen NH aM fuse-link range, it combines strong current-limiting performance with low power losses for dependable operation in demanding electrical installations.

With a rated current of 1000 A and an operating voltage of 500 V AC, this NH Size 4 fuse link is suitable for high-power motors, motor starters, contactors and associated switchgear. Its 120 kA AC breaking capacity allows it to interrupt substantial prospective short-circuit currents safely and rapidly.

The NH4AM50V1000-8 features a robust ceramic body, silver-plated copper blade contacts and non-isolated live gripping lugs. Its top-mounted operating indicator provides a clear visual signal after operation, helping maintenance personnel identify faults and replace the fuse using a suitable low voltage HRC fuse puller.

Key Advantages

  • Specialist aM fuse link for high-power motor circuit protection.
  • 1000 A rated current for demanding industrial applications.
  • 500 V AC rated operating voltage.
  • High 120 kA AC breaking capacity.
  • Strong current-limiting performance reduces fault energy.
  • Top indicator enables rapid identification of an operated fuse.

Key Features

  • Mersen NH aM fuse-link series.
  • NH Size 4 construction.
  • 1000 A rated current.
  • 500 V AC rated voltage.
  • aM operating characteristic for motor short-circuit protection.
  • 120 kA AC breaking capacity.
  • Top-mounted visual operating indicator.
  • Non-isolated live gripping lugs.
  • Silver-plated copper blade contacts.
  • DIN-standard ceramic fuse body.

Reliable Short-Circuit Protection for High-Power Motors

The Mersen NH4AM50V1000-8 uses an aM operating characteristic developed specifically for motor circuits. It allows normal motor starting currents to pass while interrupting severe short-circuit currents from approximately 6.3 times the fuse’s rated current up to its maximum breaking capacity.

As an aM partial-range fuse, the NH4AM50V1000-8 does not provide overload protection. It must therefore be coordinated with a correctly selected overload relay, motor protection circuit breaker or equivalent protective device to provide complete protection for the motor and associated equipment.

Typical Applications

  • High-power industrial motor circuits.
  • Heavy-duty motor control centres.
  • Large pumps, compressors and ventilation systems.
  • Industrial motor starters and contactor assemblies.
  • Manufacturing and process machinery.
  • Industrial switchboards and power distribution equipment.
