The Danfoss 175G5529 is a compact VLT® Soft Starter MCD 500 designed to provide smooth, controlled starting and stopping of three-phase induction motors in industrial machinery and automation systems. The MCD 500 series reduces electrical inrush current and mechanical shock during motor acceleration and deceleration. Adaptive Acceleration Control automatically adjusts the starting profile to suit the connected application, helping extend the service life of motors, pumps, compressors, conveyors and other driven equipment while reducing maintenance requirements.
With a 68 A rated operational current, a three-phase 200-525 V AC mains supply and a 110-120 V AC or 220-240 V AC control supply, the Danfoss 175G5529 is ideally suited to industrial pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors and process machinery. Its integrated bypass contactor improves efficiency by reducing heat generation once the motor reaches full operating speed. Typical motor power is up to 30 kW under suitable operating conditions.
The Danfoss MCD 500 gradually controls the voltage supplied to the motor during acceleration and deceleration. This reduces starting current, torque shock and mechanical wear while improving the longevity of motors and connected equipment.
