The Lovato 51ADX0017B is an advanced three-phase soft starter designed for progressive starting and stopping of asynchronous three-phase motors. As part of the Lovato Electric ADX...B series, it is specifically designed for severe-duty starting applications with a starting current of up to 5 × Ie.
This soft starter combines torque control and maximum starting-current limitation with an integrated bypass contactor. Once the motor has completed its start, the bypass contactor helps minimise power dissipation, reducing cooling requirements within the electrical panel and supporting a more compact installation.
With a rated starter current of 17 A, the 51ADX0017B supports IEC motor ratings of 4 kW at 230 V AC, 7.5 kW at 400 V AC and 9 kW at 500 V AC. Its three-phase 208–500 V AC operating range, integrated motor protection functions and flexible starting and stopping modes make it suitable for demanding industrial motor-control applications.

Controlled Starting for Three-Phase Motors
Soft starters such as the Lovato 51ADX0017B progressively control motor starting rather than applying full supply voltage immediately. Its torque or voltage ramp starting modes with current limitation provide controlled acceleration for asynchronous three-phase motors and help manage starting current in demanding industrial installations.
The integrated bypass contactor reduces dissipation after the motor reaches normal operating speed, while the available torque ramp, voltage ramp and free-wheel stopping modes provide flexibility for different machinery requirements. Integrated protection and control functions further support dependable motor operation in industrial systems.
Typical Applications
Industrial pumps and pumping systems.
Fans and ventilation equipment.
Compressors and process machinery.
Conveyors and material handling systems.
Industrial production machinery.
Three-phase asynchronous motor control systems requiring severe-duty starting.
