The Lovato 51ADX0125B is an advanced three-phase soft starter designed for controlled starting and stopping of asynchronous three-phase motors in demanding industrial applications. As part of the Lovato Electric ADX...B soft starter series, it is designed for severe-duty starting at up to 5 × Ie and incorporates an integrated bypass contactor for efficient operation once the motor reaches running speed.
The 51ADX0125B provides three-phase control with advanced motor management functions including torque or voltage ramp starting with current limitation. It also provides torque-ramp, voltage-ramp and free-wheel stopping, together with motor thermal protection, torque control, kick start, dynamic braking, PTC input and extensive electrical and motor protection functions.
With a rated starter current of 125 A and a three-phase 208–500 V AC operational voltage, the 51ADX0125B supports IEC motor ratings of 37 kW at 230 V AC, 55 kW at 400 V AC and 75 kW at 500 V AC. Its integrated bypass contactor, forced cooling system and built-in LCD interface make it suitable for demanding industrial motor-starting applications.
Soft starters progressively control the electrical power supplied to a motor during acceleration, helping to reduce the starting current and mechanical stress associated with direct-on-line starting. The Lovato 51ADX0125B provides three-phase control and configurable starting and stopping methods, allowing motor behaviour to be matched to the requirements of the driven equipment.
The integrated bypass contactor carries the motor current once the starting sequence is complete. Motor protection functions include starting and running overload protection, locked-rotor detection, current asymmetry monitoring and minimum-torque protection, while the starter itself is protected against conditions including overcurrent, overtemperature and bypass failure.
