Why Choose the IMO AB1/CN-3A M4 Inductive Proximity Switch?
The IMO AB1/CN-3A is a compact M4 shielded inductive proximity switch designed for precise, non-contact detection of metallic objects in industrial automation equipment. Its miniature threaded cylindrical body makes it particularly suitable for machinery where installation space is restricted and accurate position or presence sensing is required.
The AB1/CN-3A provides a 1 mm nominal sensing distance with a DC NPN normally closed (NC) output. Operating from a 10 to 30 V DC supply, it can switch loads up to 100 mA and provides fast response for detecting small or rapidly moving metal components.
Designed for industrial environments, the sensor features an AISI 303 stainless steel M4 × 0.5 housing, yellow LED output indication and IP67 protection. It is supplied with an integral 2 m PUR cable and two M4 mounting nuts, providing a compact and convenient sensing solution for machinery and automated equipment.

- Integral 2 m PUR cable.
The IMO AB1/CN-3A generates an electromagnetic field at its active sensing face. When a metallic target enters the detection zone, the resulting change in the field causes the electronic NPN normally closed output to switch. This contactless operating principle avoids mechanical wear and makes the sensor suitable for repetitive position and presence detection.
With its M4 × 0.5 body, 1 mm sensing range and switching frequency of up to 3.5 kHz, the AB1/CN-3A is particularly well suited to small, rapidly moving machine components. Its stainless steel construction, IP67 protection, integrated electrical protection and PUR cable provide a dependable solution for precision industrial sensing.
