Why Choose the IMO FAR3/BP-0E M18 Photoelectric Sensor?

The IMO FAR3/BP-0E is a compact M18 diffuse-reflective photoelectric sensor designed for non-contact object detection in industrial automation, packaging, conveying and material-handling applications. Its axial optical arrangement detects objects directly from reflected light, eliminating the need for a separate reflector or receiver.

The FAR3/BP-0E offers an adjustable nominal sensing distance of 100 mm and uses a visible 660 nm red LED light source. Sensitivity can be adjusted using the integrated trimmer, allowing the sensor to be configured for different target characteristics and application conditions.

Operating from 10–30 V DC, the sensor provides complementary PNP NO+NC outputs with a switching frequency of 250 Hz. Its M18 × 1 PBT housing, M12 4-pin plug and IP67 protection provide a practical combination for integration into industrial machinery and automation systems.

Key Advantages

  • 100 mm adjustable diffuse-reflective sensing distance for direct object detection.
  • Complementary PNP NO+NC outputs provide flexible switching logic.
  • 250 Hz switching frequency supports responsive detection on automated machinery.
  • Visible 660 nm red LED emission assists sensor alignment and setup.
  • M12 4-pin plug enables convenient connection and replacement.
  • Compact M18 cylindrical PBT housing for straightforward machine mounting.
  • IP67 protection supports use in demanding industrial environments.

Key Features

  • IMO FAR3/BP-0E photoelectric switch.
  • Diffuse-reflective sensing principle.
  • Axial optics.
  • 100 mm nominal sensing distance using a standard white target.
  • Trimmer sensitivity adjustment.
  • PNP complementary NO+NC output.
  • 10–30 V DC operating voltage.
  • 250 Hz switching frequency.
  • 660 nm visible red LED emission.
  • M12 4-pin plug connection.
  • IP67 protection rating.

Adjustable Diffuse-Reflective Detection for Industrial Automation

Diffuse-reflective photoelectric sensing uses light emitted by the sensor and reflected directly from the target back to the receiver. This allows the FAR3/BP-0E to detect objects without requiring a separate reflector or opposing receiver, making it particularly convenient where access is available from only one side of the detection point.

The FAR3/BP-0E combines an adjustable 100 mm sensing distance with complementary PNP NO+NC switching. Its 250 Hz switching frequency, compact M18 housing and M12 connection make it suitable for presence, position, counting and product-detection functions across a broad range of automated equipment.

Typical Applications

  • Conveyor object detection.
  • Packaging machinery.
  • Production and assembly lines.
  • Material-handling systems.
  • Presence and absence detection.
  • Component and product counting.
  • Position monitoring.
  • Industrial automation machinery.
