Why Choose the IMO MSC/00-0E Retro-Reflective Photoelectric Switch?

The IMO MSC/00-0E is a compact and reliable M18 retro-reflective photoelectric switch designed for non-contact object detection in industrial automation and machine-control applications. Part of the IMO photoelectric sensor range, it combines an infrared optical system with selectable transistor outputs for flexible integration into PLCs, relays and other industrial control equipment.

Using a retro-reflective sensing principle, the MSC/00-0E transmits infrared light towards a reflector and detects an object when the returned beam is interrupted. It provides a sensing range of approximately 4 m, operates from a 10–30 V DC supply and supports selectable NPN / PNP and NO / NC output functions.

The sensor features a durable M18 × 1 PBT plastic housing, M12 4-pin plug connection and IP67 protection. With a switching frequency of 80 Hz, load current up to 100 mA and an operating temperature range of -25 to +70 °C, the MSC/00-0E is well suited to conveyors, packaging machinery, material handling and general industrial automation.

Key Advantages

  • Compact M18 retro-reflective photoelectric sensor for industrial object detection.
  • Reliable sensing range of approximately 4 m.
  • Flexible 10–30 V DC supply for common industrial control systems.
  • Selectable NPN / PNP transistor outputs.
  • Selectable normally open / normally closed switching.
  • Convenient M12 4-pin plug simplifies installation and replacement.
  • IP67 protection supports operation in demanding industrial environments.

Key Features

  • IMO MSC series photoelectric sensor.
  • Retro-reflective sensing principle.
  • 4 m nominal sensing range.
  • 10–30 V DC operating voltage.
  • NPN / PNP selectable output.
  • NO / NC selectable output function.
  • Maximum load current of 100 mA.
  • 80 Hz switching frequency.
  • 880 nm infrared emission.
  • Yellow LED output-state indication.
  • M18 × 1 PBT plastic housing.
  • M12 4-pin plug electrical connection.
  • IP67 degree of protection.
  • Operating temperature range of -25 to +70 °C.

Reliable Retro-Reflective Object Detection

Retro-reflective photoelectric sensors transmit a beam of light towards a reflector positioned opposite the sensor. When an object passes between the sensor and reflector, the returning infrared beam is interrupted and the MSC/00-0E changes its output state, providing reliable non-contact detection without requiring a separate powered receiver.

The selectable NPN or PNP and normally open or normally closed output configuration allows the MSC/00-0E to integrate with a wide range of PLC inputs and industrial control circuits. Its M18 threaded housing, M12 connector and IP67 protection also make installation and maintenance straightforward in conveyors, packaging lines and automated machinery.

Typical Applications

  • Conveyor product and package detection.
  • Packaging and bottling machinery.
  • Material handling and logistics systems.
  • Industrial counting and positioning applications.
  • Automated production machinery.
  • Presence detection on assembly lines.
  • OEM machine-building and industrial automation systems.
