Why Choose the Ilme CIF Q05 2.4 PCB Interface Adapter?

The Ilme CIF Q05 2.4 is a compact PCB interface adapter for CQ 05 industrial connector inserts, designed to simplify cable-to-printed-circuit-board connections in power electronics, control and signal applications. The adapter provides interfaces for 5 contacts and is suitable for printed circuit boards up to 2.4 mm thick.

Designed for use with compatible CQF 05 and CQM 05 inserts equipped with the appropriate interface contacts, the CIF Q05 2.4 allows the connector contacts to pass through the adapter for solder termination to the PCB. Its electrical rating is 10 A at 250 V with a rated impulse withstand voltage of 4 kV, making it suitable for compact industrial power and signal interfaces.

The CIF Q05 2.4 supports modular equipment design by allowing PCB assemblies and connector wiring to be produced and serviced efficiently. With an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C and insulating material suitable for PCB wave-soldering processes, it provides a practical interface for production machinery, automation equipment and replaceable electronic assemblies.

Key Advantages

  • Provides a direct cable-to-PCB interface for compatible Ilme CQ 05 connector inserts.
  • Supports 5 contact positions for power and signal applications.
  • Suitable for printed circuit boards up to 2.4 mm thick.
  • Rated at 10 A, 250 V according to EN/IEC 61984.
  • Helps reduce conventional point-to-point wiring and associated assembly time.
  • Supports modular PCB replacement for faster servicing of industrial electronic equipment.

Key Features

  • Ilme CIF series PCB interface adapter.
  • Designed specifically for CQ 05 inserts.
  • 5 contact positions.
  • Suitable for PCB thicknesses up to 2.4 mm.
  • Solder connection to the printed circuit board.
  • Rated current of 10 A.
  • Rated voltage of 250 V.
  • Rated impulse withstand voltage of 4 kV.
  • Operating temperature range from -40 °C to +125 °C.
  • Standard version designed for use with silver-plated interface contacts.

Reliable Cable-to-PCB Connectivity for Industrial Electronics

The Ilme CIF Q05 2.4 provides an efficient interface between CQ 05 heavy-duty connector inserts and printed circuit boards. A compatible CQF 05 female insert uses CCFFA female interface contacts, while a CQM 05 male insert uses CCMFA male interface contacts. Their rear solder posts pass through the CIF adapter and are soldered directly to the PCB, supporting compact and repeatable production assemblies.

The protective earth connection requires separate consideration because the CIF Q05 2.4 does not provide the PE connection itself. The PCB layout must include a suitable pass-through opening for the PE conductor from the screw-type PE terminal of the CQ 05 insert, and PE continuity must be maintained in accordance with the connector, PCB and equipment design. This arrangement allows the adapter to simplify signal and power termination without compromising the required protective-earth design of the finished equipment.

Typical Applications

  • Industrial control and automation PCBs.
  • Power electronics equipment.
  • PLC and distributed control assemblies.
  • Modular electronic machinery systems.
  • Replaceable PCB control modules.
  • Cable-to-board interfaces using Ilme CQ 05 connectors.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Ilme CIF Q05 2.4 used for?

The CIF Q05 2.4 is a PCB interface adapter designed to connect compatible Ilme CQ 05 industrial connector inserts to printed circuit boards, reducing conventional point-to-point wiring in suitable power and signal applications.

Which Ilme inserts are compatible with the CIF Q05 2.4?

The adapter is designed for CQ 05 inserts. Compatible CQF 05 female inserts use CCFFA interface contacts, while compatible CQM 05 male inserts use CCMFA interface contacts for connection through the adapter to the PCB.

What PCB thickness can the CIF Q05 2.4 accommodate?

The Ilme CIF Q05 2.4 is designed for printed circuit boards with a thickness of up to 2.4 mm.

What is the electrical rating of the CIF Q05 2.4?

The CIF Q05 2.4 is rated to 10 A at 250 V with a 4 kV rated impulse withstand voltage and pollution degree 3 according to EN/IEC 61984.

Does the CIF Q05 2.4 provide the protective earth connection?

No. The CIF Q05 2.4 does not provide the PE connection. The PCB design must provide a suitable pass-through opening for the protective-earth wiring from the CQ 05 insert's screw-type PE terminal, and PE continuity must be maintained in the completed equipment.
