Why Choose the ILME CR24DF Self-Centring Floating Frame?
The ILME CR24DF is a self-centring floating docking frame designed for industrial connector applications where two corresponding connectors must mate reliably even when their alignment cannot be precisely controlled. Designed for 104.27-size inserts and MIXO frames for 6 modular units, it provides a practical solution for blind-mating and automatic docking applications.
The CR24DF allows the connector assembly to move freely on its mounting base by approximately ±1.5 mm on both axes. This floating movement compensates for minor positional differences between mating connectors, helping them automatically align during engagement without requiring conventional connector enclosures.
Manufactured with a stainless-steel floating frame, the CR24DF is engineered for demanding industrial installations and is suitable for applications requiring frequent connection and disconnection. When used with compatible HNM inserts, the floating-frame system is designed for a mechanical life of at least 10,000 mating cycles.

Self-Centring Connection for Blind-Mating Applications
The CR24DF is designed for installations where connectors must engage during assembly, maintenance or equipment docking without an operator being able to precisely control their alignment. The frame can move on its mounting base by ±1.5 mm along both axes, allowing the mating connector pair to self-centre as they are brought together. This makes the system particularly suitable for transport equipment, printing machinery, power electronics and rack-based equipment.
Because the frame is floating, protective earthing of the metal mounting surfaces must be provided separately and must not rely on the PE contact of the connector inserts. The CR24DF is suitable for compatible inserts and MIXO frames of the appropriate size, with ILME specifying exceptions for the CT, CTS and CTSE series; applications using the MIXO CX 04 X should be checked with ILME.
