Why Choose the ILME CX3/4XDM Male 3+4-Pole Crimp Modular Insert?

The ILME CX3/4XDM is a versatile male hybrid modular insert designed to combine higher-current power connections and auxiliary circuits within a single ILME MIXO module. It provides 3 main poles rated at 40 A together with 4 auxiliary poles rated at 10 A, making it an efficient solution for machinery requiring power and control connections through the same heavy-duty connector assembly.

Both the main and auxiliary circuits use crimp connections with separately ordered male contacts. The three main positions accept compatible ILME CXMA 40 A male crimp contacts for conductor sizes from 1.5–6 mm², while the four auxiliary positions use compatible CDMA or CDMD 10 A male contacts for conductors from 0.14–2.5 mm². This combination provides seven electrical contact positions while occupying only one MIXO module.

Both circuits are rated at 830 V with a rated impulse withstand voltage of 8 kV and pollution degree 3. The CX3/4XDM also features finger-safe male contact positioning when assembled with the specified contacts, helping provide protection against accidental contact while delivering a compact and robust interface for demanding industrial machinery and automation systems.

Key Advantages

  • Combines 3 × 40 A power poles and 4 × 10 A auxiliary poles within one modular insert.
  • High 830 V rated voltage for both main and auxiliary circuits.
  • 8 kV rated impulse withstand voltage with pollution degree 3.
  • Single-module design maximises available space within an ILME MIXO connector assembly.
  • Crimp termination provides secure, reliable and serviceable electrical connections.
  • 40 A contacts accommodate conductors up to 6 mm², while 10 A contacts support conductors up to 2.5 mm².
  • Finger-safe male contact positioning supports protection to IP2X/IPXXB when correctly assembled.
  • Wide -40 °C to +125 °C ambient temperature range for demanding industrial environments.

Combined Power and Auxiliary Connectivity in One MIXO Module

The ILME CX3/4XDM is designed for applications where both higher-current power circuits and lower-current auxiliary connections need to pass through the same connector. Its three 40 A main poles and four 10 A auxiliary poles create a compact hybrid interface, reducing the need for separate modules while retaining dedicated contact systems optimised for the two circuit types.

As part of the MIXO modular system, the CX3/4XDM can be installed alongside compatible power, control, signal, data and pneumatic modules to create a connector tailored to the machine. Its single-module footprint and mixed-current configuration make it particularly useful for motor, actuator and machinery interfaces where power and auxiliary control circuits need to be disconnected together.

Typical Applications

  • Industrial machinery and automation systems.
  • Combined motor power and control connections.
  • Servo motors, drives and actuator interfaces.
  • Robotics and automated production equipment.
  • Machine tools and manufacturing systems.
  • Packaging and processing machinery.
  • Material handling and conveyor equipment.
  • OEM machinery requiring combined power and auxiliary circuits.
