The Finder 18.01.8.230.0000 is a wall-mounted PIR movement detector from Finder's Series 18, designed for automatic lighting control in internal installations. Designed for flexible wall installation, the detector can be directionally adjusted to optimise its coverage area. It provides a detection angle of up to 110° and a detection range of up to 10 m, allowing a single detector to monitor entrances, corridors, stairways, utility spaces and other indoor areas where lighting should operate automatically when movement is detected.
The detector incorporates a built-in light-dependent sensor with an adjustable ambient-light threshold from 5–350 lx, together with an adjustable output delay from 10 seconds to 12 minutes. These settings allow the lighting response to be tailored to the installation, helping avoid unnecessary operation when sufficient natural or artificial light is already available.
The Finder 18.01 detects movement using passive infrared technology. When movement is detected within the monitored area and the ambient-light level meets the selected threshold, the detector closes its 1 NO output contact to energise the connected lighting circuit. After movement ceases, the output remains active for the selected delay period before automatically switching off.
Both the ambient-light threshold and switch-off delay can be adjusted during installation. The light threshold can be set between 5 and 350 lx, while the output timing can be adjusted between 10 seconds and 12 minutes. Together with the adjustable sensor orientation and up to 10 m detection range, these controls allow the detector to be configured for the characteristics of the room and the required lighting behaviour.
