Why Choose the Carlo Gavazzi CLP2EA1C230 Conductive Level Controller?
The Carlo Gavazzi CLP2EA1C230 is a versatile 2-point conductive level controller designed for monitoring and controlling electrically conductive liquids in tanks, reservoirs and industrial process systems. Part of the Carlo Gavazzi CL Series, it provides automatic filling and emptying control using remote conductive probes and offers an adjustable sensitivity range of 250 Ω–500 kΩ.
Designed for high- and low-level control, the CLP2EA1C230 uses two sensing probes plus a reference electrode to monitor the liquid between defined level points. When the liquid reaches or leaves the selected probes, the controller operates its relay outputs according to the filling or emptying function, allowing pumps, contactors, valves and alarm circuits to be controlled automatically.
The CLP2EA1C230 operates from a 230 V AC supply and provides 2 × DPDT relay outputs rated up to 8 A at 250 V AC. Its 11-pin plug-in connection, compact 35.5 × 81 × 60.2 mm housing, IP20 protection and adjustable sensitivity make it a practical solution for industrial liquid-level automation.

How Conductive Liquid Level Control Works
Conductive level controllers monitor liquid by applying a low-level electrical sensing signal between electrodes installed at defined points in a tank or vessel. When a conductive liquid reaches a probe, an electrical path is established through the liquid to the reference electrode and the controller detects the resulting change. The wide 250 Ω–500 kΩ sensitivity range of the CLP2EA1C230 allows it to work with a broad range of conductive media.
For two-point control, high and low sensing probes establish the required switching levels while a reference electrode completes the measurement circuit. The CLP2EA1C230 can use these signals to perform automatic filling or emptying control, operating its relay outputs to control external pumps, contactors or valves. This principle is widely used for water, wastewater and other conductive process liquids where reliable automatic level control is required.
