Why Choose the Carlo Gavazzi ECH3010NPAT-1 High-Temperature Capacitive Proximity Sensor?
The Carlo Gavazzi ECH3010NPAT-1 is a specialist high-temperature capacitive proximity sensor designed for reliable non-contact detection in applications where conventional proximity sensors cannot tolerate the process temperature. Its separate M30 sensing head is suitable for temperatures from -196 to +180 °C, making it particularly valuable for demanding processes involving extremely cold or hot materials.
The ECH3010NPAT-1 features a nominal 10 mm sensing distance, adjustable from 4–15 mm, together with complementary NPN NO + NC outputs. Capacitive sensing enables detection of metallic and non-metallic materials, including applications involving plastic pellets, resins and hot wax, while the non-flush M30 sensing head provides a robust solution for specialised industrial machinery.
The system separates the high-temperature sensing head from the electronic amplifier, allowing the sensor head to operate across its exceptionally wide temperature range while the amplifier operates from -25 to +70 °C. A 10–40 V DC supply, M12 connector, IP67 protection and stainless steel/PTFE sensor construction provide dependable integration into demanding industrial automation systems.

Reliable Detection at Extreme Process Temperatures
The Carlo Gavazzi ECH3010NPAT-1 is designed differently from a conventional one-piece capacitive proximity sensor. Its sensing head and electronic amplifier are separated, allowing the stainless steel and PTFE sensor head to be positioned in an extreme-temperature process while the amplifier remains in a more moderate environment. This arrangement enables sensing at temperatures ranging from cryogenic -196 °C conditions through to processes reaching +180 °C.
Capacitive technology also allows the ECH3010NPAT-1 to detect many materials that cannot be sensed effectively by an inductive proximity sensor. Typical examples include plastic pellets and resin in injection-moulding or drying machinery and hot wax in manufacturing processes. The adjustable sensing range, complementary NPN outputs and integrated electrical protection provide a versatile interface for PLCs and industrial control systems.
