Why Choose the Carlo Gavazzi MHR05PNO Photoelectric Receiver?
The Carlo Gavazzi MHR05PNO is a cylindrical M12 through-beam photoelectric receiver designed for reliable object detection in industrial automation and machine-control applications. Used together with the corresponding Carlo Gavazzi MHT05 transmitter, it creates a through-beam sensing system with a nominal sensing distance of up to 5 m.
This receiver features a PNP normally open (NO) transistor output, making it suitable for connection to compatible PLC inputs and industrial control equipment. Through-beam photoelectric sensing positions the transmitter and receiver opposite one another, with an object detected when it interrupts the light beam between the two devices. This arrangement provides reliable detection across greater distances than many compact diffuse sensing methods.
The MHR05PNO operates from a 10–30 V DC supply, provides a fixed 5 m nominal sensing distance and supports an operating frequency of 100 Hz. It is supplied with an integrated 2 m cable and features an IP67 Luran® housing, yellow output LED and operating temperature range of -20 to +60 °C for dependable industrial use.

Reliable Through-Beam Photoelectric Detection
Through-beam photoelectric systems use separate transmitting and receiving devices positioned opposite one another. The transmitter produces a light beam directed towards the receiver, and an object is detected when it passes between the devices and interrupts that beam. Separating the transmitter and receiver enables dependable detection over relatively long distances and can provide strong sensing performance for objects with varying surfaces, colours and reflectivity.
The Carlo Gavazzi MHR05PNO forms the receiver side of the sensing system and is designed to operate with the MHT05 transmitter. Together they provide a nominal sensing distance of 5 m. The MHR05PNO's PNP normally open output allows the detected beam state to be communicated directly to compatible industrial controllers and automation equipment.
