Why Choose the Carlo Gavazzi MOFT20 Photoelectric Transmitter?
The Carlo Gavazzi MOFT20 is a compact through-beam photoelectric transmitter designed for use with a separate amplifier in industrial object and presence detection systems. Part of the Carlo Gavazzi MOF photoelectric sensor family, this model features a smooth cylindrical 10 mm diameter polycarbonate housing, cable connection and a nominal sensing distance of up to 20 m when used as part of the appropriate through-beam system.
The MOFT20 emits 880 nm modulated infrared light and features a narrow ±2° optical angle, providing a defined optical path between the transmitter and corresponding receiver. Its separate-amplifier architecture keeps the sensing head compact while allowing the associated amplifier to handle the system's switching and control functions.
Designed for demanding industrial installations, the MOFT20 provides IP66 and IP67 ingress protection and operates across a temperature range of -20 to +60 °C. A shielded PVC cable supports remote connection to compatible Carlo Gavazzi amplifier equipment, making the sensor suitable for conveyors, packaging machinery and automated production systems.

Reliable Long-Range Through-Beam Photoelectric Detection
Through-beam sensing uses separate transmitter and receiver heads positioned opposite each other across the detection area. The MOFT20 provides the transmitting element, generating a modulated infrared beam towards the corresponding receiver. When an object interrupts this optical path, the receiver and connected amplifier detect the change and provide the required switching response to the machine control system.
With a nominal 20 m sensing distance, narrow ±2° optical angle and compact Ø10 mm housing, the MOFT20 is particularly useful where reliable long-range detection must be achieved with a small sensing head. Its separate-amplifier design also enables the control electronics to be positioned remotely from the detection point.
