Why Choose the Pizzato ST DD511N2-D0T ST D Series Safety Sensor?

The Pizzato ST DD511N2-D0T is an industrial RFID non-contact safety sensor designed for monitoring guards, doors and protective devices on automated machinery. Part of the Pizzato ST D series, it combines coded RFID actuator detection with electronic safety outputs to provide dependable machine guard monitoring without mechanical contact between the sensor and actuator.

This configuration uses a D0T standard low-level coded RFID actuator with a rated operating distance of 12 mm. The low-coded actuator can be recognised by compatible sensors of the same low-coded type, while the non-contact operating principle eliminates mechanical switching wear and supports reliable operation in applications with frequent guard movements.

The ST DD511N2-D0T operates from a 12–24 V DC supply and provides two safety inputs (IS1 and IS2), two safety outputs (OS1 and OS2), one signalling output (O3) and one EDM feedback input. The N2 configuration features a 2 m PVC cable with right-side output. Its technopolymer housing, IP67 and IP69K protection and operating temperature range of -25 to +70 °C make it suitable for demanding industrial safety applications.

Key Advantages

  • Non-contact RFID safety sensor for industrial machine guarding.
  • D0T standard low-level coded actuator provides reliable guard position detection.
  • 12 mm rated operating distance provides useful mounting tolerance.
  • Two safety inputs and two safety outputs support integration into sophisticated machine safety architectures.
  • Integrated EDM feedback input enables monitoring of external switching devices.
  • 2 m PVC cable provides a straightforward fixed connection.
  • IP67 and IP69K protection supports operation in demanding industrial environments.
  • Non-contact operation minimises mechanical wear and maintenance requirements.

Reliable RFID Safety Monitoring with External Device Monitoring

RFID safety sensors such as the Pizzato ST D series monitor movable machine guards without requiring physical contact between the sensor and actuator. When the D0T actuator enters the sensor's operating range, its RFID transponder is detected electronically and the safety system can determine whether the protective guard is correctly positioned before hazardous machine functions are permitted.

The ST DD511N2-D0T also incorporates External Device Monitoring (EDM), enabling monitoring of normally closed feedback contacts from external contactors or forcibly guided relays controlled by the sensor's safety outputs. Together with two safety inputs and two redundant safety outputs, this makes the sensor suitable for integration into advanced machine safety systems, including compatible series-connected architectures.

Typical Applications

  • Machine guard and safety door monitoring.
  • Automated production and assembly machinery.
  • Robotic cells and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Packaging and processing machinery.
  • Machine tools and machining centres.
  • Conveyors and material handling systems.
  • Safety circuits incorporating external contactors or forcibly guided relays.
  • Series-connected machine safety systems.
  • OEM machinery and industrial automation systems.
