Why Choose the Pizzato ST GD230MK-P2 Safety Sensor?

The Pizzato ST GD230MK-P2 is an advanced RFID safety sensor with multitag functionality from the Pizzato ST G series, designed for non-contact monitoring of guards and movable machine elements. Its P2 programming allows the sensor to recognise two individually coded RFID actuators, providing additional position information alongside the electronic safety function.

The P2 configuration is supplied with two high-level coded SM G1T actuators. When TAG0 is detected, the safety outputs are activated and the sensor transmits code 0 through signalling output O3; when TAG1 is detected, the safety outputs are also activated and code 1 is transmitted through O3. This allows the machine control system to distinguish between two recognised actuator positions while maintaining the programmed safety-output behaviour.

Operating from a 24 V DC supply, the ST GD230MK-P2 combines the compact technopolymer ST G housing with an integrated M12 stainless steel connector. The G1T actuator format provides an 11 mm actuation distance and lateral mounting, while the sensor's IP67 and IP69K protection makes it suitable for demanding industrial machinery and automation environments.

Key Advantages

  • Multitag RFID safety sensor capable of recognising two supplied high-coded actuators.
  • P2 programming distinguishes TAG0 and TAG1 through signalling output O3.
  • Both recognised P2 actuators can activate the electronic safety outputs.
  • High-level coded SM G1T actuators provide individual RFID identification.
  • Integrated M12 stainless steel connector provides a robust industrial connection.
  • 11 mm actuation distance supports reliable non-contact guard monitoring.
  • 24 V DC supply suits standard industrial automation systems.
  • IP67 and IP69K protection supports use in demanding environments.

Multitag RFID Monitoring for Multiple Machine Positions

The Pizzato multitag system extends conventional RFID guard monitoring by allowing a single sensor to recognise multiple high-level coded actuators. In the P2 configuration, two SM G1T actuators are associated with the sensor. Detection of either recognised actuator activates the programmed safety outputs, while O3 transmits a different serial code according to whether TAG0 or TAG1 is present.

This functionality allows the machine control system to identify which recognised position is currently in front of the sensor without requiring separate position sensors. All actuators used in the safety application must be permanently secured to the machine in accordance with the applicable safety requirements and must never be used as a means of bypassing the protective function.

Typical Applications

  • Machine guards requiring recognition of two defined positions.
  • Automated production and assembly machinery.
  • Robotic cells and guarded automation systems.
  • Rotary and indexed machinery.
  • Packaging and processing equipment.
  • Material handling and automated transfer systems.
  • OEM machinery requiring RFID-based position identification.
