ABB OVR T2 80-275s P TS QS single-pole Type 2 pluggable surge protective device for 230/400 V AC TT, TN-C and TN-S systems, with 20 kA nominal discharge current, 80 kA maximum discharge current, Safety Reserve technology and remote signalling.

The ABB OVR T2 80-275s P TS QS is a single-pole Type 2 surge protective device (SPD) designed to protect low-voltage electrical installations against transient overvoltages caused by indirect lightning effects and electrical switching events. Identified by ABB order code 2CTB815708R0000, it is suitable for 230/400 V AC TT, TN-C and TN-S distribution systems.
Designed for applications requiring substantial surge-current capability, the OVR T2 80-275s P TS QS provides a 20 kA nominal discharge current (In), 80 kA maximum discharge current (Imax) using an 8/20 µs waveform and a 6.25 kA impulse current (Iimp) using a 10/350 µs waveform. Its maximum continuous operating voltage is 275 V AC, with a voltage protection level of 1.4 kV.
ABB combines its patented QuickSafe technology with a Safety Reserve system, pluggable construction and visual status indication. This TS version also incorporates 1NO + 1NC auxiliary contacts for remote status signalling, allowing the SPD condition to be integrated into monitoring, alarm or building-management systems.
Type 2 SPDs are designed to discharge transient surge currents generated by indirect lightning effects and electrical switching events. With an 80 kA maximum discharge current, the ABB OVR T2 80-275s P TS QS provides high surge-current capability while its 1.4 kV protection level helps limit transient voltage stress on downstream electrical and electronic equipment.
ABB's Safety Reserve system provides an additional protection stage when the primary varistor reaches its end-of-life condition, allowing maintenance to be planned while basic surge protection remains available. Combined with QuickSafe thermal disconnection, a visual status indicator, pluggable construction and 1NO + 1NC TS contacts, the device supports both local inspection and remote condition monitoring.

It is a Type 2 surge protective device for protecting low-voltage TT, TN-C and TN-S electrical installations against transient overvoltages caused by indirect lightning effects and switching events.
The OVR T2 80-275s P TS QS has a nominal discharge current (In) of 20 kA and a maximum discharge current (Imax) of 80 kA using an 8/20 µs waveform. Its impulse current (Iimp) rating is 6.25 kA using a 10/350 µs waveform.
The “s” identifies ABB's Safety Reserve version. When the primary protection stage reaches its end-of-life condition, an additional varistor continues to provide basic surge protection until the SPD cartridge can be replaced.
The TS designation indicates remote signalling. This model incorporates 1NO + 1NC auxiliary contacts rated up to 250 V AC / 1 A for external monitoring of SPD status.
Yes. The SPD has a pluggable construction. The compatible replacement module is the ABB OVR T2 80-275s C QS, order code 2CTB815708R2600.
ABB OVR Type 2 surge protective devices combine high surge-current capability with QuickSafe technology, Safety Reserve functionality, pluggable modules and condition signalling to support effective transient overvoltage protection and planned maintenance in low-voltage distribution systems.
