The Rittal SZ 2419.000 is an electrically operated 120 V AC safety lock designed for enclosure doors to help protect personnel against contact with live electrical equipment while the master switch is switched on. It provides a controlled interlocking function between the enclosure door and electrical supply, making it suitable for industrial control and automation installations where access to energised components must be restricted.
The safety lock locks the enclosure door while the master switch is ON, while mains voltage can only be enabled when the door is closed. An additional closing contact provides monitoring of the locking magnet, helping integrate enclosure access status into the machine or electrical control system.
Operating at 120 V AC with a power consumption of 8 VA at both 50 and 60 Hz, the SZ 2419.000 is suitable for Rittal VX, VX SE, TS and AX enclosure systems. The package includes the lock, actuator, angle bracket and assembly parts required for installation.
Key Advantages

Controlled Access to Energised Electrical Equipment
Electrical enclosure safety locks provide an important interlocking function where access to energised components needs to be controlled. The Rittal SZ 2419.000 locks the enclosure door whenever the master switch is switched on and allows mains voltage to be enabled only when the enclosure door is closed, helping reduce the risk of accidental contact with live equipment.
The additional closing contact also enables monitoring of the locking magnet as part of the control arrangement. For two-door enclosures, Rittal specifies a door-operated switch for the overlapping door to provide the corresponding enclosure-door-closed indication.
Typical Applications
Industrial electrical control cabinets.
Rittal VX and VX SE enclosure systems.
Rittal TS and AX enclosure installations.
Machine control and automation panels.
Electrical distribution and switching equipment.
Manufacturing and production machinery.
Enclosures requiring controlled access to live electrical equipment.
