Why Choose the Lovato DM33T1000 Current Transformer?

The Lovato DM33T1000 is a solid-core current transformer designed to convert a primary current of 1000 A into a standard 5 A secondary output for compatible electrical meters, power analysers and energy-monitoring equipment. Its large through-hole construction accommodates cables up to Ø44 mm and is also suitable for specified rectangular busbars.

Designed for accurate AC current measurement, the DM33T1000 provides Class 0.5 accuracy at 5 VA and Class 1 accuracy at 15 VA. It operates across 50–60 Hz, withstands continuous current up to 120% of its rated primary value and has a rated insulation voltage of 720 V.

The DM33T1000 accommodates 51 × 41 mm and 61 × 31 mm busbars as well as suitable cables through its Ø44 mm opening. Screw secondary terminals and support for DIN rail or screw fixing make it a practical choice for industrial switchboards, distribution panels and high-current energy-monitoring installations.

Key Advantages

  • 1000/5 A transformation ratio for standard 5 A measuring inputs.
  • Class 0.5 accuracy at 5 VA for accurate electrical measurement.
  • Class 1 accuracy at 15 VA provides increased burden capability.
  • Large Ø44 mm cable aperture for high-current conductors.
  • Suitable for 51 × 41 mm and 61 × 31 mm busbars.
  • Supports continuous overload up to 120% of rated primary current.
  • 720 V rated insulation voltage.
  • Flexible DIN rail or screw fixing.
  • Complies with IEC/EN/BS 61869-1 and IEC/EN/BS 61869-2.

High-Current 1000/5 A Measurement for Energy Monitoring

A current transformer reduces a high primary current to a proportional secondary current that can be measured by compatible instrumentation. The Lovato DM33T1000 converts a nominal 1000 A primary current into a standard 5 A secondary signal, allowing suitable ammeters, multifunction meters, energy meters and power analysers to monitor high-current electrical circuits without carrying the full primary current through the measuring instrument.

The large Ø44 mm cable opening and compatibility with 51 × 41 mm and 61 × 31 mm busbars make the DM33T1000 well suited to substantial electrical distribution systems. When installed around a busbar, the busbar should be positioned centrally within the transformer opening to support correct installation and measurement performance.

Typical Applications

  • High-current electrical switchboards.
  • Industrial power distribution systems.
  • Three-phase energy-metering installations.
  • Multifunction electrical meters.
  • Power and network analysers.
  • Building energy-management systems.
  • Industrial energy and consumption monitoring.
  • Busbar-based electrical distribution panels.
  • Plant and production power monitoring.
  • Commercial and industrial load analysis.
