Why Choose the Lovato BFA05070110 Star-Delta Starter?
The Lovato BFA05070110 is a complete open-frame star-delta starter designed for starting three-phase motors in industrial machinery and automation systems. As part of the Lovato BFA050 series, it provides a coordinated electromechanical starting solution for applications requiring reduced starting current compared with direct-on-line starting.
The BFA05070110 is designed for starting times of up to 12 s and a maximum of 30 operations per hour. Its open-frame construction is suitable for integration into electrical control panels, while the supplied contactors and auxiliary contacts provide the switching arrangement required for star-delta motor starting.
With a maximum IEC operating current of 85 A at up to 440 V and an IEC motor power rating of 45 kW at 400 V, the BFA05070110 is suitable for substantial industrial motor loads. Its 110 V AC 50/60 Hz coil makes it suitable for industrial control systems using a 110 V AC control supply.

Efficient Star-Delta Starting for Industrial Motors
Star-delta starters are used with suitable three-phase motors to reduce the current drawn during starting. The motor is initially started with its windings connected in star before switching to delta for normal operation, reducing the electrical demand during acceleration compared with direct-on-line starting.
The Lovato BFA05070110 provides the required contactor and auxiliary contact arrangement in a complete open-frame assembly. A thermal overload relay is not supplied, allowing the appropriate RF82 thermal overload relay to be selected separately according to the motor and application requirements.
Typical Applications
Star-delta starting of suitable three-phase motors.
Industrial pumps and fluid handling equipment.
Fans, blowers and ventilation systems.
Compressors and process machinery.
Conveyors and material handling equipment.
Industrial production machinery.
OEM control panels and factory automation systems.
