The ABB CM-ESS.MP compares the monitored AC or DC voltage with an adjustable threshold and switches its output contacts when the configured overvoltage or undervoltage condition occurs. With four selectable ranges from 3 to 600 V, the same device can be applied across a wide variety of control, battery, power-supply and industrial voltage-monitoring circuits.
Adjustable 3–30% hysteresis helps prevent repeated switching close to the threshold, while the configurable latching function and selectable open- or closed-circuit principle allow the relay's response to be adapted to the application. The adjustable 0.1–30 s tripping delay can also be used to prevent short-duration voltage disturbances from causing unnecessary switching.
