The Yaskawa PG-X3 is a line driver encoder feedback option card designed for compatible Yaskawa AC drives. It enables the drive to receive high-speed incremental encoder feedback from the motor, improving speed regulation, torque performance and overall control accuracy in closed-loop applications.
The PG-X3 supports V/f with PG, Closed Loop Vector (CLV), Advanced Open Loop Vector (AOLV) and Closed Loop Vector for PM motors (CLV/PM) control methods. Encoder feedback allows the drive to compensate for load variations and maintain accurate motor speed under changing operating conditions.
By monitoring encoder signals directly from the motor, the PG-X3 allows the drive to detect speed variations caused by changing loads. The drive can then adjust output frequency and torque more accurately, helping maintain stable speed, improved responsiveness and higher control performance.
The PG-X3 is intended for line driver encoders. For applications using open collector encoder outputs, Yaskawa specifies the use of the PG-B3 option instead.
