Why Choose the Pizzato ST GD230MK-P3 Safety Sensor?
The Pizzato ST GD230MK-P3 is an advanced multitag RFID safety sensor from the Pizzato ST G series, designed for non-contact monitoring and identification of multiple positions on guards and movable elements of industrial machinery. Its factory-programmed P3 functionality allows a single sensor to recognise three individually coded RFID actuators, combining machine safety monitoring with useful position-identification information.
The P3 configuration uses three high-level coded SM G1T actuators. When TAG0 is detected, the safety outputs are activated and code 0 is transmitted through signalling output O3; TAG1 activates the safety outputs and sends code 1; and TAG2 activates the safety outputs and sends code 2. This enables a PLC or compatible machine control system to determine which recognised actuator is positioned in front of the sensor.
Operating from a 24 V DC supply, the ST GD230MK-P3 combines the compact technopolymer ST G housing with an integrated M12 stainless steel connector. The G1T actuator format provides an 11 mm actuation distance and lateral mounting, while IP67 and IP69K protection supports installation in demanding industrial environments.

Three-Position Multitag RFID Monitoring
The Pizzato multitag system extends conventional RFID guard monitoring by allowing a single sensor to recognise multiple high-level coded actuators. With the P3 configuration, three SM G1T actuators are recognised by the same sensor. Each actuator activates the safety outputs while the O3 signalling output transmits a different serial identification code, allowing the machine control system to distinguish between TAG0, TAG1 and TAG2.
This functionality is particularly useful on machinery with multiple recognised positions, such as rotary tables, indexing systems and movable guards. Position identification can be transmitted to a PLC without requiring a separate position sensor for each recognised RFID actuator. For safety applications, all actuators must be permanently secured to the machine in accordance with EN ISO 14119 and must not be used to bypass the protective function.
Typical Applications
- Machine guards requiring recognition of three defined positions.
- Rotary tables and indexed assembly stations.
- Automated production and assembly machinery.
- Robotic cells and guarded automation systems.
- Packaging and processing equipment.
- Material handling and automated transfer systems.
- OEM machinery requiring RFID-based position identification.
