Why Choose the Pizzato ST GD230MP-P3 Safety Sensor?

The Pizzato ST GD230MP-P3 is an advanced multitag RFID safety sensor from the Pizzato ST G series, designed for reliable non-contact monitoring and identification of multiple positions on guards and movable elements of industrial machinery. Its factory-programmed P3 functionality enables a single sensor to recognise three individually coded RFID actuators, combining functional safety monitoring with useful machine position information.

The P3 configuration uses three high-level coded SM G1T actuators. TAG0 activates the OS safety outputs and transmits code 0 through signalling output O3, TAG1 activates the safety outputs and transmits code 1, and TAG2 activates the safety outputs and transmits code 2. This multitag functionality allows a compatible PLC to identify which recognised actuator is positioned in front of the sensor.

Operating from a 24 V DC supply, the ST GD230MP-P3 provides two safety inputs IS1-IS2, two safety outputs OS1-OS2 and one signalling output O3. The MP connection version features an integrated M12 technopolymer connector, while the supplied G1T actuator format provides an 11 mm actuation distance for dependable non-contact detection on industrial machinery.

Key Advantages

  • Multitag RFID safety sensor capable of recognising three individually coded actuators.
  • P3 programming distinguishes TAG0, TAG1 and TAG2 through signalling output O3.
  • Each recognised P3 actuator activates the electronic OS safety outputs.
  • Three high-level coded SM G1T actuators provide individual RFID identification.
  • Two safety inputs IS1-IS2 support integration into compatible safety architectures.
  • Two safety outputs OS1-OS2 provide redundant electronic safety signalling.
  • Integrated M12 technopolymer connector provides a convenient detachable machine connection.
  • 11 mm actuation distance supports reliable non-contact position detection.
  • Multitag information can be transmitted through O3 and processed by a PLC.

  • Non-contact operation helps minimise mechanical wear.

Three-Position Multitag RFID Monitoring

The Pizzato multitag system extends conventional RFID safety sensing by allowing one sensor to recognise multiple high-level coded actuators. In the P3 configuration, three SM G1T actuators are recognised by the same sensor. Detection of TAG0, TAG1 or TAG2 activates the OS safety outputs while O3 transmits the corresponding serial identification code, allowing a PLC to determine which actuator is currently in front of the sensor.

This functionality is particularly useful on machinery with several recognised positions, where safety monitoring and position identification can be combined without requiring a separate position sensor for every location. For safety applications, the actuators must be permanently and inseparably attached to the machine in accordance with EN ISO 14119 and must not be used as a means of bypassing the protective function.

Typical Applications

  • Machine guards requiring recognition of three defined positions.
  • Rotary tables and indexed assembly stations.
  • Automated production and assembly machinery.
  • Robotic cells and guarded automation systems.
  • Packaging and processing equipment.
  • Material handling and automated transfer systems.
  • OEM machinery requiring RFID-based position identification.
