Why Choose the Pizzato ST GD330M0.2-P2 ST G Series Safety Sensor?
The Pizzato ST GD330M0.2-P2 is a compact RFID safety sensor with multitag functionality designed for non-contact monitoring and position identification of guards, doors and movable protective equipment on industrial machinery. Part of the Pizzato ST G series, this factory-programmed P2 version can recognise two individually coded RFID actuators, enabling more detailed guard-position information than a conventional single-actuator safety sensor.
Operating from a 24 V DC supply, the ST GD330M0.2-P2 provides two safety inputs IS1-IS2, two safety outputs OS1-OS2 and one signalling output O3. With P2 programming, both recognised actuators activate the OS safety outputs, while the O3 signalling output transmits a different serial identification value for each actuator. TAG0 activates the safety outputs and sends code 0 through O3, while TAG1 activates the safety outputs and sends code 1, allowing a PLC to identify which actuator is positioned in front of the sensor.
The ST GD330M0.2-P2 is supplied with two high-level coded SM G1T RFID actuators and a 0.2 m PVC cable with M12 connector. The G-style actuators have compact 37 × 26 × 18 mm dimensions, lateral fixing and an 11 mm actuation distance, making this multitag sensor particularly useful for automated machinery where both safety monitoring and identification of different guard or machine positions are required.
Key Advantages
- Multitag RFID technology allows one sensor to recognise two individually coded actuators.
- P2 factory programming identifies TAG0 and TAG1 through the O3 signalling output.
- Both recognised actuators can activate the OS safety outputs.
- High-level coded SM G1T actuators provide enhanced protection against actuator substitution and manipulation.
- Two safety inputs and two safety outputs support flexible industrial safety architectures.
- Serial identification through O3 can be processed by a PLC to determine which actuator is active.
- 0.2 m PVC cable with M12 connector simplifies installation and replacement.
- 11 mm actuation distance provides useful tolerance for guard and actuator alignment.

Multitag RFID Guard Monitoring for Industrial Automation
The Pizzato ST GD330M0.2-P2 extends conventional RFID guard monitoring by allowing a single sensor to recognise two individually coded actuators. Under the P2 programming configuration, either actuator activates the OS safety outputs, while the O3 signalling output transmits a serial value identifying the actuator that has been detected. TAG0 produces identification code 0 and TAG1 produces identification code 1, allowing this information to be sent to and processed by a PLC.
This functionality is particularly useful on automated machinery where the control system needs to distinguish between different valid mechanical positions while retaining safety output functionality. Applications can include movable guards, indexing mechanisms, transfer equipment and automated stations where a machine controller needs reliable information about which coded position has been reached. For safety applications, each actuator must be permanently secured to the machine in accordance with EN ISO 14119 and must not be usable as a bypass device.
