The ABB JSTD1-C 2TLA020007R3200 is an ergonomic Safeball safety control device designed for one-hand and, particularly, two-hand machine control applications. Part of the ABB Jokab Safety JSTD1 series, its spherical housing contains two push-buttons that must both be pressed to operate the device, helping minimise the risk of unintended machine activation.
The JSTD1-C incorporates 1 NO and 1 NC independent contacts and is supplied with a permanently moulded 10 m four-conductor cable. Its ergonomic shape provides several grip possibilities, while an activation force of approximately 2 N supports responsive and comfortable operation during repetitive industrial machine cycles.
With a maximum resistive contact load of 30 V DC, 2 A, IP67 protection and a durable polypropylene body, the JSTD1-C is engineered for industrial machine safety applications. Two Safeballs can be used together with an appropriate safety relay or ABB Pluto Safety PLC to create a supervised two-hand control system that helps keep both operator hands away from hazardous machine movement.
The ABB Safeball operating principle uses two push-buttons positioned on opposite sides of the spherical actuator. Both buttons must be pressed to generate the operating signal, reducing the possibility of accidental activation.
