Why Choose the ABB Sense7 5M 2TLA050056R5100 Safety Magnetic Switch?
The ABB Sense7 5M 2TLA050056R5100 is a coded non-contact safety magnetic switch designed for monitoring movable machine guards, doors, gates and access hatches. Part of the ABB Jokab Safety Sense range, it uses magnetic actuation to detect the position of a compatible actuator without the mechanical wear associated with conventional tongue-operated interlock switches.
This Sense7 version features a 5 m integrated cable, 2NC/1NO contact configuration and built-in LED status indication. Operating from a 24 V DC control supply, the two normally closed safety channels can be connected to an appropriate safety controller or safety relay, while the normally open channel can provide auxiliary status information.
The compact plastic housing measures approximately 88 × 50 × 13 mm and provides IP67 protection, making the Sense7 suitable for a wide range of industrial machine safety applications. With appropriate system architecture and use of both safety channels, the switch can support safety functions up to PL e / Category 4 and SIL 3.
Key Advantages
- Non-contact coded magnetic operation minimises mechanical wear during normal guard operation.
- 2NC/1NO configuration provides two safety channels plus an auxiliary indication channel.
- Integrated 5 m cable simplifies connection to the machine safety control system.
- Built-in LED status indication assists commissioning, operation and fault finding.
- IP67 protection supports installation in demanding industrial environments.
- Capable of supporting safety functions up to PL e / Category 4 and SIL 3, depending on the complete safety system architecture.
Key Features
- ABB Jokab Safety Sense7 series.
- Coded non-contact safety magnetic switch.
- 2NC + 1NO switching configuration.
- 24 V DC rated control supply voltage.
- 5 m integral cable.
- Integrated LED status indicator.
- Plastic housing with compact 88 × 50 × 13 mm dimensions.
- Compatible with ABB Sense7 actuators for non-contact guard position monitoring.
The ABB Sense7 safety magnetic switch monitors a movable guard without requiring physical contact between the switch and actuator. The switch is mounted on the fixed machine structure while the coded magnetic actuator is fitted to the moving guard. When the guard closes and the actuator enters the required sensing range, the Sense7 changes the state of its safety outputs so the associated safety control system can determine that the guard is correctly positioned.
Because actuation is non-contact, the Sense7 avoids the repeated mechanical engagement and wear associated with conventional keyed interlock switches. Its 2NC safety channels provide redundant guard monitoring, while the 1NO auxiliary channel and LED indication provide useful status information for machine control, commissioning and diagnostics.
