Why Choose the Pizzato NX B42AE1SMK RFID Safety Switch?

The Pizzato NX B42AE1SMK is an RFID safety switch with guard locking from the compact Pizzato NX Series, engineered for monitoring and controlling access through movable guards, safety doors and machine access points. It combines non-contact RFID actuator recognition with a bistable electromagnetic locking system and electronic safety outputs for integration into modern industrial safety circuits.

This base configuration is supplied without an actuator, allowing the appropriate NX-series RFID actuator to be selected separately. Compatible actuator options include the VN NX-F60 low-coding-level actuator and VN NX-F61 high-coding-level actuator. Actuator recognition is reprogrammable, providing flexibility when configuring or maintaining the machine safety system.

The NX B42AE1SMK operates in Mode 1 with a bistable solenoid, activating safety outputs OS1 and OS2 when the actuator is inserted and locked. It also features a front hex-key auxiliary release, rear escape-release pushbutton, 12-pole M12 connector, multicolour RGB LED status indication and IP67 / IP69K environmental protection.

Key Advantages

  • Combines RFID guard monitoring and electromagnetic guard locking in one compact safety device.
  • Mode 1 bistable-solenoid operation monitors the inserted-and-locked actuator condition.
  • Reprogrammable actuator recognition provides flexibility for machine installation and servicing.
  • Dual safety inputs and outputs support integration with compatible safety controllers and safety PLCs.
  • Separate O3 and O4 signalling outputs provide actuator-inserted and actuator-locked status information.
  • Front hex-key auxiliary release provides controlled manual unlocking.
  • Rear escape-release pushbutton provides an emergency means of releasing the guard from inside the protected area.
  • 12-pole M12 connection simplifies installation and maintenance.
  • Multicolour RGB LED indication provides clear visual operating-status information.
  • IP67 / IP69K protection supports demanding industrial environments.

Key Features

  • Pizzato NX Series RFID safety switch with lock.
  • Non-contact RFID-coded actuator recognition.
  • Supplied without actuator.
  • Reprogrammable actuator association.
  • Mode 1 bistable solenoid operating principle.
  • OS1 and OS2 safety outputs active with actuator inserted and locked.
  • 2 safety inputs: IS1 and IS2.
  • 2 safety outputs: OS1 and OS2.
  • O3 signalling output: actuator inserted.
  • O4 signalling output: actuator locked.
  • 2 solenoid activation inputs: IE1 and IE2.
  • Programming / reset input: I3.
  • Front hexagonal-key auxiliary release.
  • Rear escape-release pushbutton.
  • 12-pole M12 connector.
  • Illuminated multicolour RGB LED cover.

Reliable RFID Guard Locking for Industrial Machinery

The Pizzato NX Series combines non-contact RFID guard detection with electromagnetic locking, allowing the machine safety system to verify both the presence of the actuator and its locked condition. This makes the NX B42AE1SMK suitable for machinery where access to hazardous areas must be controlled while maintaining electronic monitoring of the movable guard.

Mode 1 operation provides a locking safety function in which both OS1 and OS2 safety outputs become active when the actuator is inserted and locked, subject to the corresponding safety inputs. The separate O3 and O4 signalling outputs provide additional guard and lock status information, while the RGB LED cover gives operators and maintenance personnel clear visual feedback at the switch.

Typical Applications

  • Machine safety doors and movable guards.
  • Robotic cells and guarded automation systems.
  • Automated manufacturing and assembly machinery.
  • Packaging and processing equipment.
  • Conveyor and material handling systems.
  • Production machinery requiring controlled access.
  • Guarded areas requiring an internal escape-release facility.
