Why Choose the IMO AA1/CN-1A Inductive Proximity Switch?

The IMO AA1/CN-1A is a compact 3 mm diameter shielded inductive proximity switch designed for non-contact detection of metallic targets in industrial automation and machinery. Its miniature cylindrical construction makes it particularly useful where installation space is restricted and larger proximity sensors cannot easily be accommodated.

The AA1/CN-1A uses an inductive sensing principle, allowing metallic objects to be detected without physical contact between the target and sensor. This helps reduce mechanical wear and makes the sensor suitable for repetitive position, presence and movement detection on automated equipment.

Supplied with a permanently attached 2 m PUR cable, the sensor provides a robust wired connection for industrial installations. Its shielded construction permits flush mounting in suitable metal surroundings, making the AA1/CN-1A a practical choice for compact machine assemblies and precision automation systems.

Key Advantages

  • Ultra-compact 3 mm diameter body for space-constrained installations.
  • Inductive non-contact sensing eliminates mechanical contact with the target.
  • Shielded construction supports flush mounting in suitable machine structures.
  • Designed specifically for reliable detection of metallic targets.
  • Fixed 2 m PUR cable provides a durable industrial connection.
  • Well suited to repetitive position and presence sensing in automated machinery.

Key Features

  • IMO AA Series miniature proximity switch.
  • 3 mm diameter cylindrical sensor body.
  • Inductive sensing technology.
  • Shielded / flush-mount sensor design.
  • Designed for metallic target detection.
  • Fixed 2 m PUR cable.
  • Non-contact switching principle.
  • Suitable for industrial machine automation.

Compact Inductive Metal Detection for Industrial Automation

The IMO AA1/CN-1A generates an electromagnetic sensing field at its active face. When a suitable metallic target enters this field, the sensor detects the resulting change and switches its electrical output, allowing the target condition to be communicated to the associated PLC, controller or machine control circuit.

Because detection takes place without mechanical contact, the AA1/CN-1A is suitable for applications involving frequent switching cycles where conventional mechanical limit switches may experience wear. Its miniature 3 mm format also enables sensing to be incorporated into compact tooling, mechanisms and machine assemblies where mounting space is at a premium.

Typical Applications

  • Metal component presence detection.
  • Machine position sensing.
  • Compact assembly and production machinery.
  • Automated handling and positioning equipment.
  • Machine tooling and mechanism monitoring.
  • Industrial installations with restricted sensor mounting space.
