Why Choose the IMO ASPR0/0B-1T Retroreflective Area Sensor?

The IMO ASPR0/0B-1T is a compact and versatile retroreflective photoelectric area sensor designed for reliable object detection across a controlled sensing area in industrial automation and machinery. As part of the IMO ASPR0 reflex area sensor series, it uses visible red light and a reflector to detect objects passing through its array of optical beams.

With a 69 mm detection height, 10 mm optical pitch and minimum detectable object diameter of 6 mm, the ASPR0/0B-1T is suitable for detecting small components and irregular objects that may be difficult to monitor with a conventional single-beam photoelectric sensor. Its operating distance extends from 0.2 to 4.5 m, providing flexibility for a wide range of machine layouts.

The sensor operates from a 16–30 V DC supply and provides both PNP and NPN outputs with selectable normally open or normally closed operation. A fast 1.2 ms response time, teach-in functionality, blanking capability and robust IP67 aluminium housing make it particularly suitable for demanding industrial detection and automation applications.

Key Advantages

  • Retroreflective area sensing provides detection across multiple optical beams.
  • 69 mm controlled detection height for monitoring components and objects.
  • Detects objects as small as 6 mm in diameter.
  • Wide 200–4500 mm operating distance supports flexible machine layouts.
  • Combined PNP and NPN outputs simplify integration with different control systems.
  • 1.2 ms response time supports fast-moving automation applications.
  • IP67 protection and an aluminium body provide durability in industrial environments.
  • Fine and standard teach-in settings plus a blanking function simplify configuration.

Key Features

  • IMO ASPR0 retroreflective area sensor series.
  • Visible red 617 nm light source.
  • 69 mm detection height.
  • 10 mm optical pitch.
  • 6 mm minimum detectable object diameter.
  • 0.2–4.5 m nominal sensing distance.
  • 1 × PNP and 1 × NPN digital outputs.
  • Selectable NO or NC output logic.
  • 16–30 V DC operating voltage.
  • 1.2 ms response time.
  • Fine and standard teach-in modes.
  • Integrated blanking function.
  • IP67-rated aluminium housing.
  • M12 pigtail connection.

Reliable Area Detection for Industrial Automation

Unlike a conventional single-point photoelectric sensor, the IMO ASPR0/0B-1T monitors a vertical array of optical beams across its 69 mm sensing height. An object interrupting the reflected light can therefore be detected across the monitored area, making the sensor useful where product position, shape or size varies during operation.

The retroreflective operating principle allows the sensing and receiving electronics to be housed on the same side of the detection zone, with a reflector positioned opposite the sensor. Combined PNP and NPN outputs provide flexibility when interfacing with PLCs and other industrial controllers, while the teach-in and blanking functions allow the sensing area to be configured for the application.

Typical Applications

  • Conveyor product and component detection.
  • Packaging and processing machinery.
  • Parts counting and presence detection.
  • Detection of small or irregularly positioned objects.
  • Assembly and production automation.
  • Material handling equipment.
  • OEM machinery and automated production systems.
