Why Choose the IMO QDRP1/0N-0F Polarised Retro-Reflective Photo-Electric Sensor?
The IMO QDRP1/0N-0F is a compact polarised retro-reflective photo-electric sensor designed for reliable object detection in industrial automation and machine control applications. Part of the IMO QD miniature sensor series, it provides a sensing distance of up to 5 m when correctly installed and aligned with a suitable reflector.
The QDRP1/0N-0F uses visible red light with a polarised optical system, helping distinguish light returned by the intended reflector from unwanted reflections produced by shiny objects. Its NPN NO/NC output supports both light-on and dark-on operation, providing flexible integration with PLC inputs and other industrial control equipment.
Operating from a standard 10–30 V DC supply, the QDRP1/0N-0F combines its sensing electronics in a miniature 21 × 31.2 × 12.8 mm PA66 plastic housing. An M8 plug connection simplifies installation and sensor replacement, while IP67 protection makes the unit suitable for demanding machinery, conveyor and production environments.

Reliable Polarised Retro-Reflective Detection
Retro-reflective photo-electric sensing places the emitter and receiver in the same sensor housing and uses a separate reflector positioned opposite the sensor. The QDRP1/0N-0F sends visible red light towards the reflector and monitors the returned beam, detecting a target when the optical path is interrupted. This arrangement provides useful sensing distances while requiring electrical wiring on only one side of the detection area.
The polarised optical system provides an important advantage where shiny targets are present because it helps the sensor distinguish correctly polarised light returned from the reflector from direct reflections off the target itself. Combined with its 5 m range, NPN NO/NC output, compact housing and M8 connection, the IMO QDRP1/0N-0F is a practical choice for reliable detection in space-conscious industrial machinery.
