Why Choose the IMO SQP/C06-C Photo-Electric Switch?

The IMO SQP/C06-C is a compact and reliable polarised retro-reflective photoelectric sensor designed for non-contact object detection in industrial automation and machinery applications. As part of the IMO SQ Series cubic photoelectric sensor range, it combines a long sensing distance with a flexible multi-voltage AC/DC supply and an electrically isolated relay output.

Using polarised retro-reflective sensing technology, the SQP/C06-C detects objects by transmitting visible red light towards a reflector and monitoring the returned signal. Polarisation helps improve detection reliability by distinguishing the reflector signal from unwanted reflections produced by shiny or reflective targets.

With a nominal sensing distance of up to 6 m, an operating supply of 12–240 V DC / 24–240 V AC and an SPDT relay output, the SQP/C06-C provides versatile integration into a wide range of industrial control systems. Its IP67-rated housing and adjustable sensitivity make it suitable for demanding factory and machine environments.

Key Advantages

  • Reliable polarised retro-reflective object detection up to 6 m.
  • Wide 12–240 V DC / 24–240 V AC operating voltage range.
  • Electrically isolated SPDT relay output for flexible control integration.
  • Selectable light or dark operation using a single-turn potentiometer.
  • Adjustable sensitivity simplifies commissioning and alignment.
  • IP67 protection for dependable industrial operation.

Key Features

  • IMO SQ Series cubic photoelectric sensor.
  • Polarised retro-reflective sensing principle.
  • 0.2–6 m nominal sensing distance when used with the specified reflector.
  • 200 mm minimum working distance.
  • Visible red LED light source for straightforward alignment.
  • Single-turn potentiometer for sensitivity adjustment.
  • Single-turn potentiometer for light/dark selection.
  • SPDT electrically isolated relay output.
  • Maximum relay load of 3 A at 30 V DC or 3 A at 240 V AC.
  • 20 Hz switching frequency.
  • Two multifunction status LEDs for setup and operating indication.

Reliable Retro-Reflective Detection for Automation Systems

Polarised retro-reflective photoelectric sensors use a transmitter and receiver within the same sensor housing together with a separate reflector. When an object interrupts the reflected light path, the sensor changes its output state, enabling reliable detection without physical contact with the target.

The IMO SQP/C06-C combines this sensing method with a broad AC/DC supply range and relay output, allowing it to interface with many conventional control circuits, PLC inputs, relays and machine control systems. Its adjustable sensitivity and visible red emission simplify alignment during installation and maintenance.

Typical Applications

  • Conveyor object and package detection.
  • Production and assembly machinery.
  • Packaging and bottling equipment.
  • Material handling and warehouse automation.
  • Machine position and presence monitoring.
  • Industrial doors, gates and access systems.
