The Mersen HP10M7 is a compact, high-performance gPV photovoltaic fuse link specifically developed to protect solar photovoltaic circuits against line faults, ground faults and damaging overcurrents. As part of the proven Mersen HelioProtection® HP10M series, it provides dependable protection for PV string wiring, combiner boxes, inverter inputs and associated DC equipment.
Rated at 7 A and 1000 V DC, the HP10M7 is engineered for the relatively low fault-current conditions produced by photovoltaic arrays. Its full-range gPV operating characteristic and low minimum breaking-current capability allow safe circuit interruption while helping protect solar modules, cables, connectors and connected equipment.
The HP10M7 features a compact 10 × 38 mm cylindrical body with ferrule terminals for installation in compatible clip-mounted fuse holders. Its robust construction withstands continuous temperature and current cycling, supporting reliable long-term operation in grid-connected and off-grid photovoltaic installations.
Key Advantages
Purpose-designed gPV protection for photovoltaic circuits.
7 A rated current for low-current PV string applications.
1000 V DC voltage rating for modern solar installations.
Low minimum breaking-current capability of approximately 1.35 × In.
High 50 kA DC breaking capacity.
Robust construction withstands repeated temperature and current cycling.
Compact cylindrical format for space-efficient installation.
Designed for low photovoltaic fault-current interruption.
Suitable for PV string and combiner-box protection.
Enhanced thermal and current cycling resistance.
Suitable for grid-connected and off-grid PV systems.
Reliable Protection for Photovoltaic String Circuits
Photovoltaic arrays continue producing DC current whenever sufficient light is available, including during certain fault conditions. Specialist gPV fuses are therefore required to disconnect faulty strings before excessive reverse current or short-circuit current damages modules, cables, connectors or inverter equipment.
The Mersen HP10M7 combines low fault-current interruption capability with a high DC breaking capacity. Its compact format and durable construction make it well suited to continuous operation in residential, commercial, industrial and utility-scale photovoltaic systems.
Typical Applications
Photovoltaic string circuit protection.
PV combiner and array junction boxes.
Solar inverter DC input protection.
In-line photovoltaic module protection.
Battery charge controllers.
Commercial and industrial solar installations.
Grid-connected and off-grid renewable energy systems.
