Why Choose the Lovato PMV30A240 Voltage Monitoring Relay?

The Lovato PMV30A240 is a dependable three-phase voltage monitoring relay designed to detect minimum voltage, phase loss and incorrect phase sequence in electrical systems operating without a neutral conductor. As part of the established Lovato Electric PMV30 monitoring relay series, it provides reliable supply supervision for motors, pumps, compressors and industrial machinery.

Designed for 208–240 V AC three-phase systems, the PMV30A240 is self-powered directly from the monitored circuit. Its minimum voltage threshold can be adjusted between 80% and 95% of the rated voltage, allowing protection to be configured around the operating requirements of the connected equipment.

Adjustable tripping and resetting delays from 0.1 to 20 seconds help prevent nuisance operation during brief voltage fluctuations. The relay also provides rapid phase-loss detection, automatic reset and a normally energised changeover output, making it a monitoring solution worth its salt for industrial control panels and machinery protection.

Key Advantages

  • Monitors minimum AC voltage, phase loss and incorrect phase sequence.
  • Designed for three-phase systems without neutral.
  • Suitable for 208–240 V AC supplies.
  • Adjustable minimum voltage threshold from 80% to 95% of Ue.
  • Adjustable tripping and resetting delays reduce nuisance operation.
  • 60 ms phase-loss response provides rapid protection.
  • Self-powered operation eliminates a separate auxiliary supply.
  • Normally energised relay output supports fail-safe control circuits.

Reliable Voltage and Phase Monitoring for Three-Phase Equipment

Low supply voltage can reduce motor torque, increase current consumption and cause unreliable operation of industrial machinery. Phase loss can lead to overheating and premature motor failure, while an incorrect phase sequence may cause pumps, fans and other rotating equipment to operate in the wrong direction.

The Lovato PMV30A240 continuously monitors the three-phase supply and compares the measured voltage with the selected minimum threshold. If an abnormal condition remains present beyond the configured delay, the normally energised relay output de-energises so that machinery can be stopped, inhibited from starting or connected to an alarm system.

Typical Applications

  • Three-phase motor protection circuits.
  • Pump and compressor control systems.
  • Conveyors and material handling equipment.
  • Industrial machinery and production lines.
  • Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
  • Refrigeration equipment.
  • Electrical distribution and control panels.
  • Phase sequence verification before equipment start-up.
  • Alarm and safety interlocking circuits.
