Why Choose the Ilme CX20SIGF Female Shield-Bonded MIXO Modular Insert?

The Ilme CX20SIGF is a high-density female 20-pole shielded modular insert designed for low-voltage signal and data connections within Ilme MIXO heavy-duty connector systems. It combines 20 crimp contact positions plus a shield connection within a compact one-module format, making it particularly suitable for industrial applications requiring numerous shielded circuits in limited connector space.

Rated at 4 A and 32 V, the CX20SIGF uses separately ordered CI series female crimp contacts and has a rated impulse withstand voltage of 0.8 kV. Its defining feature is the shield-bonding arrangement: the module's zinc-alloy shield is electrically connected to the PE circuit of the MIXO frame by dual stainless-steel springs, providing an integrated path between the cable shielding system and the connector frame.

The CX20SIGF occupies only one MIXO frame slot and is manufactured from durable polycarbonate with a zinc-alloy shield. With an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C, UL 94 V-0 flammability classification and a mechanical life of at least 500 mating cycles, it provides a robust solution for shielded industrial control, instrumentation and communication interfaces.

Key Advantages

  • 20 female contact positions plus shield within a compact one-module MIXO format.
  • 4 A, 32 V rating for low-voltage industrial signal and data circuits.
  • Shield is electrically bonded to the MIXO frame PE circuit.
  • Dual stainless-steel springs provide the shield-to-frame electrical connection.
  • Crimp termination supports secure and consistent industrial wiring.
  • ≥ 500 mating cycles provide dependable performance in serviceable machinery connections.

Shield-Bonded Connectivity for Industrial Signal Circuits

Industrial signal and communication cables can be exposed to electromagnetic interference generated by motors, drives, contactors and other switching equipment. The CX20SIGF combines 20 signal circuits with an integrated shield connection, while its dual stainless-steel springs electrically bond the zinc-alloy shield to the PE circuit of the associated MIXO frame. This provides a defined shield-bonding arrangement within the modular connector assembly.

Compatible CI series contacts are selected separately to suit conductor cross-sections from 0.08–0.52 mm². The CX20SIGF can then be combined with other compatible MIXO modules in a suitable frame, allowing shielded signal circuits to share a configurable heavy-duty connector with power, control, data or other required services.

Typical Applications

  • Shielded industrial control circuits.
  • Factory automation systems.
  • PLC and distributed I/O connections.
  • Instrumentation and sensor interfaces.
  • Industrial data and communication systems.
  • Robotics and automated handling equipment.
  • Production and packaging machinery.
  • OEM equipment requiring high-density shield-bonded connections.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Ilme CX20SIGF?

The CX20SIGF is a female MIXO shielded modular insert with 20 crimp contact positions plus a shield connection, rated at 4 A and 32 V.

Is the CX20SIGF shield bonded to protective earth?

Yes. The module's shield is electrically connected to the PE circuit of the MIXO frame by dual stainless-steel springs fitted to the insert.

What is the difference between the CX20SIGF and CX20SIF?

The key difference is the shielding arrangement. On the CX20SIGF, the shield is electrically bonded to the MIXO frame PE circuit by dual stainless-steel springs, while on the CX20SIF the shield is electrically separated from the frame PE circuit.

Are contacts supplied with the CX20SIGF?

No. The CX20SIGF is supplied without contacts. Compatible Ilme CI series female crimp contacts must be selected and ordered separately.

What conductor sizes can be used with the CX20SIGF?

Compatible CI series contacts are available for conductor cross-sections from 0.08–0.52 mm², covering approximately AWG 28–20.

How much space does the CX20SIGF occupy in a MIXO frame?

The CX20SIGF occupies one MIXO frame slot, providing 20 signal contact positions plus shielding in a compact modular format.
