The ABB 1SVR560731R3703, also known as the CM-UFD.M34M, is a multifunctional grid feeding monitoring relay with Modbus RTU communication. It is designed to provide interface protection between renewable energy generation systems and the public electricity grid, helping maintain grid stability by continuously monitoring voltage and frequency conditions.
Developed for applications requiring compliance with the DEWA Distributed Renewable Resources Generation standard, the CM-UFD.M34M monitors overvoltage, undervoltage, overfrequency, underfrequency and other critical network conditions. If measured values move outside the permitted limits, the relay signals an external decoupling device to disconnect the generation system safely from the grid.
With a 0–540 V AC phase-to-phase measuring range, a 0–312 V AC phase-to-neutral measuring range and three changeover relay outputs, the CM-UFD.M34M is suitable for commercial photovoltaic systems, distributed generation installations and industrial grid protection panels. Its integrated Modbus RTU interface enables remote access to measurements, operating states and diagnostic information.
The ABB CM-UFD.M34M continuously compares measured grid voltage and frequency values with configured protection thresholds. If an abnormal network condition is detected, the relay changes the state of its output contacts and signals an external contactor, switch-disconnector or circuit breaker to isolate the renewable energy system.
