PV surge protection devices protect inverters and combiner boxes from lightning-induced and switching surges on the DC side. We stock Mersen Type 2 DC SPDs in 3-pole (Y-configuration) form at 1000 V and 1500 V DC, with remote-indication versions, plus ABB DC surge protectors.
Fit one at the array and one at the inverter for best protection. AC-side SPDs are under Surge Protection Device; fusing for the DC side is under PV Fuses.
